Why do I need a safety program?
Federal and State OSHA, Department of Labor, requires
that you provide a safe work place for your employees. The
Department of OSHA regularly monitors the employers’ work site,
either because of an accident, complaint, or by random choice. This
is to ensure that you are providing a safe work environment for your
employees. If a violation is discovered, you could then be cited.
What is the difference in an insurance inspection, OSHA
Consultative Inspection, and Safety and Technical Solutions
inspection?
When your insurance carrier does an inspection, it
normally occurs only once a year; therefore, leaving the remaining
eleven months for potential problems. On the next visit, if you
still have problem areas, your rates could increase. If an OSHA
Consultative Service comes in, they will assist you in finding
problem areas, but will give you a timetable to remedy the
violations. If the violation is serious, they will follow-up to make
sure it is completed on their timetable. Safety and Technical
Solutions works with you on problems areas, establishes a plan of
action, and a timetable for completion with follow up on a regularly
scheduled program to locate all potential problems and meet the
regulations.
What is the cost of service?
Safety and Technical Solutions has many services
available for you. Some clients request a one-time visit. This is
done on an hourly basis fee plus expenses. If you elect to have
regularly scheduled inspections, safety training meetings, and
safety manuals developed, that is based on a service contract.
If OSHA conducts an inspection of my facility what do I do?
Safety and Technical Solutions has helped many clients
through an inspection by assisting them in remedying the written
violations and making sure the guidelines are met to OSHA’s
approval. Upon a visit from OSHA, it is necessary that you react
quickly and promptly completing all violation recommendations.
Safety and Technical Solutions is there to help your staff meet
these requirements.
